What do I do about smashed door?

Posting here for traffic as I’m honestly stuck on what to do.

I live on the ground floor of an apartment building with my DS who is asleep in his crib. Outside out apartment door is a big glass door that leads outside. This door is right next to my bedroom windows. About 10 minutes ago I headed a loud smash and the glass is completely shattered and slowly coming down. It’s quite dark outside of this door so I’m really concerned that somebody is going to open it and be seriously injured by the glass. I tried the building manager but there was no answer and I’m currently trying to get through to 101 but will they do anything? I literally have no clue what to do and I’m now too scared to sleep as like I said, this door is right next to my bedroom window where DS is sleeping. Does anyone have any suggestions? Am I wasting my time with 101?

I think I would call 101 to report it just as a last resort to do everything possible. I'm sorry this has happened. I wonder if the glass just broke or if it was vandalised?

@Aquamarine1029 Thats what I’m trying to figure out. Usually when someone is outside our apartment the balcony light which is motion sensitive turns on and it was off the whole time, but there is a pavement at the bottom of the little embankment outside of this door that someone could’ve thrown something from. It’s making me wonder whether someone has thrown something or if it was todays heat, but surely if it was the heat the door would’ve shattered earlier today? I honestly have no clue, I can’t even open the door to see if there’s anything lying around outside it because the glass is going to come crashing down.

It might be the heat. A window shattered in our building in London in the last heat- it was amazing.

Oh and it happened overnight.

Being too afraid to go to sleep is just silly. If someone was breaking in, they'd have done it already. They also don't tend to do something ad attention seeking as smashing a door in that manner.

It's plain vandalism, a drunk resident or the heat. Report it online if 101 is a long wait and then go to bed.
