To ask why oil rain lamps are so expensive?

I'd like to buy one as a gift for someone but they're all extortionate.

Do you have one? Why are they so pricey?

Are they not pricey because they haven’t been in production for over 40-50 years?

Because nobody makes them anymore, they’re old and so difficult to find in good condition, pumps for them are expensive and collectors are willing to pay a lot of money for them. I’d love one.
