i work in a small office in public service, As a small team of colleagues we have always got on well and support each other when rota's need changing at short notice as sometimes plans change.
One of our colleagues allegedly had an accident at work and took the company to court for compensation. Nobody saw the accident even though there is cctv in the building and he claimed it exacerbated along standing back injury
Rather than go to court the company settled out of court, i have no interest in what he got as compo but it annoys us that this money has been taken out of the public purse to pay a frivolous claim.
We know that out of work he lifts and carries his young children and pram in out of car does jobs for elderly relatives etc but plays the victim when the bosses are around.
He let slip last week that he is going to the injury compensation board to claim more money ..... more money from the public purse!
We know he spends beyond his means and has declared bankruptcy before to get away with paying his debts. we suspect he is in financial trouble again and this is his way of getting a payoff
what do we do? If we report him he will lose his job as this is fraud but if we don't he will continue to scam people many of whom are in worse financial position. The company has already paid out so should we just let sleeping dogs lie
