I really hate where I live

The house itself (Victorian mid terrace), the lack of garden (small yard), I grew up near the sea and now I’m in a valley with lots of moorland and beautiful scenery, but I’m IN the valley dip so it feels totally different, especially in hot weather like this.

I had an altercation with my neighbours, that doesn’t seem to be getting resolved. I thought we’d resolved it, but any time I see them and smile or act pleasant towards them I get nothing back.

One of the few positives is that the house price was cheap when we bought it and has now increased in value. But all the other decent houses in the area have also increased in price. So to find something equal to or better I’d need to find even more money.
Its a total dilemma and I don’t know what to do or where to start.

If you cannot move, then can you make your home your haven? Paint it as you want, furnish it so it has your personality and feels safe, warm, comforting. Perhaps take the sea and beaches as inspiration. Ditto for the yard - paint a mural on a wall, mirrors to make it seem bigger etc etc.
fwiw, I hate it where we’ve moved to and this is what I’ve done. I don’t let anyone over the doorstep unless invited - it’s my personal space which transports me to another place.
If the neighbours are ignore you, then stop giving them headspace rent free. Either just say hello and keep moving, like you would to someone passing in the street - or just ignore them back, like they don’t exist. Whatever has happened is in the past.
