AIBU to throw my phone out of the window?

Today so far, I have had 8 calls and 14 texts. Everyone knows I am on holiday this week and just ranted at my husband, who is at work and one of the culprits, that I think I am going to spend the whole week on my phone.

So your husband isn't allowed to call you? Who are the other calls from?

You could just put it on silent and ignore everyone you know.

BarbaraofSeville · 08/08/2022 13:57

Go out and 'forget' to take your phone with you.

IceStationZebra · 08/08/2022 14:00

You could… not answer it?

AlisonDonut · 08/08/2022 14:02

Does it have an off button that you could perhaps utilise?

gamerchick · 08/08/2022 14:10

Turn it off or ignore it.

Although I do like it when Husband rings through the day. I've no problem ignoring my phone.

purplecorkheart · 08/08/2022 14:15

Just because it rings it does not mean you have to answer it.

I think leaving it at home is quite a good idea. My inlaws do this due to their generation

Why is it bad that people want to communicate with you? I presume if they know you're on holiday then they are friends and family rather than Direct Line or Sky.
I find I have more time to phone or text with people when I'm on holiday. And if I don't want to then I mute my phone, turn it off of just ignore it.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 08/08/2022 21:19

Is it bad that no one ever calls me.

dudsville · 08/08/2022 21:22

My phone and alerts have been on silent since the start of the pandemic and wfh. I check it when i want to. It's been a great shift!

Sunnyqueen · 08/08/2022 21:26

Put it on silent? That isn't that many calls/texts in a day probably what I get roughly but more texts and slightly less calls.
