How much notice should we give?

Evening all! Long time lurker but not a poster! Looking for some advice though please…

We started using a self employed nanny 2 months ago who has done various things this week to make us want to get rid of her. We don’t have a contract or anything as she is self employed, so my question is how much notice should we give her? We plan to tell her tomorrow and ask her not to come back, so will pay her for last week which she worked, but how much extra should we pay her in notice? Thanks

They can be self employed if they work for more than one family.

www.nannypaye.co.uk/can-a-nanny-be-self-employed

according to this they can only be self employed if they work for more than 3 families and therefore are registered as a childminder.

how do you not have a contract?

She does work for several families on a ad hoc basis.

So she’s a babysitter rather than a nanny? Just don’t book her again then.
