I jist weighed myself

In June I thought I was a bit fat but didnt weigh myself - I started healthy eating and moving more - felt a bit more confident until tonight

I weighed myself and I am 13 stone

13 stone.

I could have fainted
I am classed as overweight on BMI but not obese

I probably was obese in June in all fairness - I felt people staring at my stomach and its ripples 😂

Anyway I wish I had not formally weighed myself as now I am very depressed

My plan is to continue to move more and eat better but not step on the scales again

AIBU to throw the scales out

Hang on, are you me???!

Antarcticant · 06/08/2022 20:25

Don't throw them out. Put them away, follow a healthy eating plan for six weeks, then weigh yourself again and be pleasantly surprised.

Whattodoaboutworknow · 06/08/2022 20:28

Keep at it OP!!! You’ve done so well already, the hardest part is starting and building the healthy habits. 13 stone is not the end of the world!

See I don't get this or the throwing the scales out.

I know so many people in your position OP, who hardly ever weight themselves and then when they finally do, they're really shocked. Whereas weekly or even just monthly weighing would've alerted you much sooner.

I suppose it's a bit like hardly ever going to the dentist and then being shocked we need 3 fillings.

Don’t throw out the scales. Carry on with your healthy plan and weigh yourself again in a month.

13 stone and how tall? That's pretty important.

Well done for the loss since June. It's not easy.

So glad I did not weight myself though in June

I think it could have been 14/14.5 stone in all honesty

@Ilovemycat1

Could be worse. Losing weight is such a slog. Good luck!

But surely that's the point?

Weekly or monthly weighing before then, might've meant you took action a little sooner.

Either way, well done for sorting it now. It's not easy at all Flowers
