A thread I was on has just been deleted. MNHQ gave the reason as the OP had privacy concerns and said she didn’t want it picked up by the Daily Mail. See attached a screenshot of their post. I have seen this quite often about privacy concerns and the tabloids, as a reason given to delete a thread.
A few months ago a post of mine (under a different user name) began to give me privacy concerns and someone actually posted “I’ll be surprised if this doesn’t get picked up by the Daily Mail, it’s tabloid fodder”, which spooked me so I reported my thread to MNHQ outlining the above. See attached their response- they wouldn’t delete my thread and stated they only do so if posts are racist, libellous or otherwise break the law?? They suggested I hide the thread, stop posting on it to let it drop off active and name change.
AIBU to wonder why MNHQ seem to delete other people’s threads for privacy concerns but they wouldn’t mine??
