What would Margaret Thatcher think of what today's Tories have done to her creation, the European Single Market?

YABU - she'd love it and be proud of their, er, achievement

YANBU - she'd be horrified at what they've done to her legacy

Her creation?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

She was a fan of single market but not widening deepening of ties into creation of current format of European Union

So she'd be proud to be associated with the loons who have wrecked her vision and slung the baby out with the bathwater? Highly unlikely.

Margaret Thatcher was a free market conservative. Believed in low regulation and low taxes. Do we have any of these things right now? No.

I’m sure the usual mob will be along to call her names and burn effigies but ultimately she pulled this country kicking and screaming into the 20th century after things got so bad in the 1970s, that this country’s economy was sinking faster than the titanic.

The UK had no competitive advantage anything when she came to power and she single handed my created the financials services sector which has sustained this country’s economy for nearly 40 years. Again, people will be along in a minute to call financial services the devils work, yet fail to acknowledge how successful it has been.
