AIBU to play a joke using Alexa/echo

My dad & I have a long running tradition of playing jokes on each other, he’s obsessed with his Alexa and sometimes my mum thinks his Alexa would be saved first in a fire 😁
I had what I think is a genius idea of using his Alexa to wind him up by asking it to set an alarm each day/make random farting noises etc
But that’s not good enough I need some really good wind up ideas but I can’t think of any or find any on Google, does anyone have any fun (evil) ideas for my joke please?
Thanks!

Set an alarm every hour from 1am to 5am to play 'oops i did it again' at full volume for a week

Our Alexas are linked, so I can announce Dinnertime with no more bellowing up the stairs.

When DS2 took his to university he didn’t unlink it, so jumped out of his skin when he was in his digs and my voice would announce dinner was ready 😂

Are your Alexa’s connected?

FarmGirl78 · 03/08/2022 15:12

You can set scripted responses, so if you say "Alexa, tell me about Dad" it will reel off whatever you've programmed it to say. Eg, "Your Dad is called Alan, he is 63 and sits in the chair by the window. He farts a lot and likes by to pick his nose when he thinks no-one is looking"

You can also "drop in" from another Alexa, I've done this to my boyfriend when we were in separate houses. He thought he was going mad because he could hear me whispering to him while he was watching telly.

Ahh @SpiderVersed has beaten me to it!

You need to acquire his phone where his Alexa app is and set up some routines.

The best routine I have is that whenever anyone tells Alexa to stop, she plays the Macarena. I've got ones for dinner and attracting the attention of each child - but whenever they try to make her stop, she starts the Macarena. That's only because I couldn't find Agadoo.

No but I possibly could connect them discreetly

The routine is prompt: say "Alexa stop" Action: play music, pick The Macarena from Amazon Music.

Works every time anyone cancels an alarm, turns off the radio ... the Macarena works because it starts quietly. Other songs are available!

Could you do a step by step guide how to do this please, I’m gonna go for it later today!

Open Alexa app.
More (bottom Right Hand Side)
Routines

  • add new Enter routine name When this happens: Voice - "Alexa, stop" Add action: music - chose song and provider

I did see someone (on here)say that they programmed Alexa to play something really annoying if their she didn’t say please when making a request. I don’t have Alexa so don’t know how possible that is.
