Who the fuck is reviving all the fucking boring zombie threads! Are you really THAT bored?

OP posts:
hummerbird · 20/08/2022 12:46

This is getting on my tits!!
It doesn't usually bother me much. One yesterday and one on Graduates today.
Last night I posted my experience and a tip or two in good faith. It seems the Thread was resurrected by weirdos. Bugger Bugger Bugger.
My humble request is for a slight re-design of the OP box. Please print the date more conspicuously. Perhaps in a larger font and on the right of the box away from Poster's name.
Does this get to anyone else?

Mumsnet has a new linking service to similar threads that may be partly responsible

This is exactly what's causing all the zombie threads. It's the fucking stupidest thing mm has done. They need to bin this.

How do you think Hawkins saw it?

How do you think Hawkins saw it?

It wasn't the cause in August though. So isn't relevant to the op.

I was on another thread that was on about them, and then clicked on this and commented then realised ops

Ah,.not sure then.

AutumnCrow · 21/11/2022 00:38

Hawkins, where did you see it to click on it? In the ‘Similar threads’ box?

saraclara · 21/11/2022 00:50

Ha ha. The irony...

This should be linked on the site stuff thread about the 'similar threads' thing.

Yea, that's the one

AutumnCrow · 21/11/2022 01:14

I rest my case. QED.

AnnieSnap · 21/11/2022 01:42

I really don’t see the problem if they are about something general, like a clothing brand.

WallaceinAnderland · 21/11/2022 01:50

Haha so stupid that Mumsnet themselves are resurrecting all these zombie threads. Great example with this one.

00100001 · 21/11/2022 07:07

watcherintherye · 21/11/2022 07:31

Isn’t it possible for MN to link threads (in case they think people might be interested, but can’t use the search function), but just have them as read only (no further comments) if they haven’t been active for a week, let’s say?

Ah, if only people had been requesting locking zombie threads for years instead of asking constantly for a random broken recommendation tool to go at the bottom of a thread....
