Over a hour wait for food is ridiculous?

It was match day in my City.
We were waiting outside a Yates pub for it to open at 10am
We were around 11th in line.
We got inside and placed a order for breakfast on the app ..that was 10.04 am
It got to 11am and still no food (yet other tables had been served slowly )
We waited till 11.30 am and asked and she said
"Oh yeah there's a 20min delay on food"
We said "we placed the order 1 1/2 hours ago"
She just said it depended the order people ordered on the app ...
So it gets to 11.45 am and no breakfast
Went to bar and asked for refund -the ticket hadn't been taken yet-hadn't even been cooked yet.
Aibu to think that's ridiculous ?

Why did you wait until 11.30 to question it? I would have asked at half 10 ? Might have not made a difference but if it had been just some sort of communication error then you might have got your food.

your order got forgotten as in didn't make it to the kitchen unfortunately it can happen was a mistake.

Well I certainly would not have waited so long. 30 minutes tops then I'd start asking questions!
We went for brunch today very full restaurant and it did take 15 minutes for drinks but food followed a few minutes later.

Of course it was ridiculous. But it was clearly a mistake and why did you wait an hour and a half before questioning it!?

BarbaraofSeville · 31/07/2022 23:01

Unless that was the only place in the vicinity that did any sort of food, I'd have been asking for a refund at about 10.30 and going elsewhere.

DS and his friends waited an hour and twenty minutes for KFC at a theme park recently. None of them took any food (they won't be making that mistake again!) and said it wasn't worth the wait either.

Because it was match day we didn't want to be rude when it was busy But considering what time we ordered we thought it was taking the mick
