Not sure where to post.....

We are having a very small wedding ( less than 20 for ceremony and sit down meal) and not much more for the evening reception... we don't have many friends and like to keep ourselves to ourselves I guess :/

I'm really struggling with thought of having a small wedding, please tell me it's not at all bad and also any tips on how to arrange seating for the meal without it looking like 2 tables and a top table lol

I had a horse shoe or U shaped table. We had about 30 people. We loved our small wedding, it was much cheaper and got to spend time with each guest! It felt much more relaxed than big weddings which can be chaotic and very long.

We did the same for 24 people. Register office wedding then back to a restaurant for drinks/meal - we had a room to ourselves although the restaurant was actually closed to public. All finished by 3ish. Then met in the pub later for those that wanted to come. All very chilled and perfect for us.

It's not bad at all. We had a small wedding with similar numbers and wouldn't have done it any other way. It was so lovely and relaxed and I spent the day with all my loved ones whereas I've been at weddings where there's been a mile long queue to speak to the bride and she barely got a chance to spend time with her new husband or to have a dance with her best friends.

We had a big banquet style dining table for dinner. DH and I sat in the middle (as opposed to the top) and were able to speak to everyone. We still had a seating plan to keep parents close but it worked really well.

Just because it's small doesn't mean you don't get to do any of the usual wedding things or that'll it'll be rubbish. We had live music in the evening and there was dancing all night. Beforehand I wasn't sure if that would be strange but I had the best time.

It sounds like you and DP know yourselves well and have planned a day that suits you so it'll be beautiful and you'll have the most perfect day.
