To ask you what you do to relax and reset?

I’ve taken next week off work to reset as my life is a bit of a mess at the moment and I need to feel a bit more “me!”

What do you do to re-set and relax?

Have enough social engagements that you are uplifted but not over stimulated.
Go to the beach/countryside/similar for a walk.
Have a good book on the go so that you know it's always there for you.
Have no early morning obligations.
Sit in the garden.
Cook something delicious which then lasts for three days.

HTH😃

Dog walks near water.

Watching things I don’t usually have time for.

Taking time to cook what I want to eat - not what everyone else wants.

Going somewhere without light pollution and watching the sky all night. Then watching the sunrise.

Sleep. Lots and lots of sleep.

Catch up on sleep.
Go to the beach and just "be".
Go out for a couple of nice pub lunches.
Have my morning coffee in the garden in peace.
Or, have coffee/breakfast in bed.

Swimming, reading, nice coffee out somewhere, walking, cooking and baking.

Run every day, and make on day a really long one.

Sort out the garden (never house stuff, gardening is more relaxing)

Sewing. It requires a very different concentration and I finish with clothes I love. It's time consuming and I find it helps turn my brain off from work/ worry.

I enjoy doing Jigsaws, helps me switch off and stops me scrolling on my phone all the time.

MeditationAndMusic · 29/07/2022 17:05

Things that I do to keep stress under control are

Get enough sleep, but not too much
Practice mindfulness every day (not as weird as some people think it is)
Dog walks or going for a run in the countryside or the beach
Read
Listen to music
Spend time with my partner and friends

Running, a motorbike trip (a week’s long enough to go to Monaco and back over the Alps) or a few nights away in a boutique hotel with a pool.

QueenImprov · 29/07/2022 19:02

Walk somewhere with a beautiful view
Coffee/cake with a friend
Yoga class
Go to a nice book shop and browse books for ages before treating yourself to one

chatterbug22 · 29/07/2022 20:13

Oooh I like painting!

Lots of interesting hobbies that help you unwind after work. Drawing is one of them. When you have comfortable devices, you get pleasure. And after all, I can afford to go to this spa and take courses on the ability to relax ..
