To know this isn't my normal?

I had the copper coil fitted around November last year. I had a bit of initial cramping and bleeding but ever since I have had a clockwork, normal period. However, this month I started bleeding 10 days early, and haven't stopped (3 weeks of bleeding). This has been a lot lighter than my period usually is, but fairly constant and definitely more than spotting. Pregnancy test says negative. Also been having severe stomach cramps and diarrhea over the past week.

Now for the AIBU... The GP surgery keep sending out texts about having no staff due to sickness and holiday and how we should only contact them in dire emergency.

This obviously isn't an "emergency" situation, but it's really not a comfortable position to be in, and I am booked to go away at the end of August. WIBU to insist to be seen for this? Otherwise I am at a bit of a loss and really not sure what's up and what to do.

I think it’s fair to get seen.

I agree - phone 111, or go to a walk in centre.

Unfortunately no walk in centres in Scotland for GP services - it seems like a bit of an over reaction to insist on treatment but I think I will have to woman up and ask to be seen.

You have a right to medical care and the surgery shouldn't be guilting patients into not calling. Bleeding for 3 weeks is something you should get to talk to a doctor about!
