Need a proof that I was overseas 4 years ago

I'm applying for student finance, but I'm currently not eligible according to them as I was working abroad 4/5 years ago and in order to be eligible, I need to have proof of employment/income for this time.

I did keep all the payslips, but I'm away atm and there's a chance I may not find them. I'll know tomorrow, if not I've emailed my company abroad to request old copies if possible.

However it was in Switzerland, I know employers here are obliged to retain old payslips for several years after, don't know about Switzerland and can't find any info.

Praying I find them, this is stressful! I've looked through my old emails but of course I deleted my inbox from 4-5 years ago as my mailbox was full. Typical, lesson learned! Not sure what else to do

Would it show on your bank statements, jf you havent kept them you can get cookes from your bank, or on your tax form, did you have a contract, visa and passoort stamos.

Even if the company in Switzerland can't provide you with old payslips, can they not issue a standard reference-type letter that says Bzzzzzz was employed at X from this date to this date?

Bzzzzzzz · 28/07/2022 15:17

Thank you, yes I've asked them for that so hopefully they'll answer, they could just ignore my email .

I still have a bank account open with them but no longer have the card, don't know if they have online banking etc.

I've lost my old contract sadly

I hope the company will reply!

You can get old statements but would need your account details, they did have uk branches who might help.

Bzzzzzzz · 28/07/2022 15:38

Thanks so much... would they post it to the UK I wonder?

They will post it to the address they hold on file for you. If that isn't in the UK, you might have to prove your identity before they change your address.

Not sure why you don't just wait till tomorrow though to get the payslips rather than panicking about the other stuff.
