As per my name change, I'm feeling really anxious about my first trip abroad with my little one! She will be 16 months when we fly. We are away for a week (all inclusive), and it's a 4.5 hour flight.

I have made a list of everything I need to make sure we take, but please can you throw some essentials at me in case I've missed anything? I just don't want to get to the airport and think "shit! I should have brought x or y!" Etc...

Thank you!

Entirely depends where you're going and what you anticipate being able to access when you're there. Also whether you're a screen parent or not.

Calpol
roll of plastic bags
liquid detergent for rinsing through a few items if you run our of clothes for DC

We are going to the Canary Islands.
I have no idea what we'll be able to access tbh. I'm thinking of taking lots of baby snacks in our suitcases / hand luggage and cartons of formula milk (she still has a bottle at night time but I'm not sure what the milk will be like over there and whether she will drink it!)

I don't think I'm a "screen parent" (not sure what the definition of one of those is 😂), but we have got her a tablet with episodes of cocomelon etc downloaded for the flight as I have no idea how to keep an active 16 month old quiet and happy on our laps for that length of time 🫣

Calpol, antihistamine, rehydration crystals, plasters, baby wipes, soap for hand washing, new toys for the plane, favourite snacks, milk, swim nappies and lots of them.

In general you can get anything you seriously need but these are things that are useful.

Swimming costume - uv swimsuit ideal
Hat
Arm bands
Sun cream
Calpol
Clothes
Cheap light buggy / reins
Parasol for buggy
Disposable bibs
Nappies
Swim nappies

A few toys - I buy spade and bucket stuff there

I also always take grandparents on holiday too. That's the best help of all 😂
