But I'm not cooking one if it's over 23.

Our house is a mid terrace so we're lucky to be toasty in winter, but turning the oven on when it's 24+ means we're cooking in the bedrooms at night.

I really craving a proper roast with yorkies, DH has done anime eyes at me last weekend but it's just too warm. We're in the SE so today is probably the coolest day in weeks.

I love autumn and winter, I want mulled wine, roast beef, and cuddly blankets.

First world problem grump face 😡

Haha! I love all things British but don’t get the hype around a roast. I’d eat bbq and salads all year round.

It's been raining today and I put a jumper on. made me really happy

ilovesooty · 27/07/2022 18:31

Go out to a carvery then.

I cook a roast regardless of the weather or the temperature. I roast a couple of chickens a week I don't see the difference with cooking a roast chicken for sarnie meat versus a roast chicken for Sunday lunch.

I am looking forward to autumn though, i really dislike August.

Is cold here today though in the South. I've had a jumper on all day. Surely it's cold enough?

You need a cobb to light in the back yard. It'll make you a lovely roast with potatoes you'll only need the oven for the yorkshires : buy frozen ones and they'll only take 4 mins!

Have a Sunday lunch at 2 o clock. Should give the house time to cool down before bed.
I have a joint on my shopping list for over the weekend

Haha me too! Thought I was the only one. I love cooking a roast but DH won’t have one because it’s summer 🤷‍♀️. Craving a cold winter day with a nice walk and coming back to a roast chicken dinner 🥰

I know what you mean, OP.
Roasts are banned until autumn, as are casseroles, stews ( including dumplings!!!) and anything else hearty.

Bloody hate salads now!

Dh normally cooks a roast every Sunday without fail but it's just been far too hot the last 3 weeks.

The temp dipped on Monday so he shot out to Morrisons and OMG I ate every morsel 😄
