Pre purchased train tickets on strike days

What happens about train tickets bought for days the strike is on?

Can we get a refund?

Will they put coaches on?

I have some expensive non refundable tickets for an event and I'm not sure now how I'm going to get there.

Anyone else in a similar position- what are you doing ?

Even non refundable tickets will be refunded

ImSoMagical · 27/07/2022 16:39

You'll get a 100% refund if train cancelled - make sure its not vouchers. You'll have to apply though. I'm currently waiting for 8 refunds!!!

Yes you will get the cash back. Most train companies have an online form. Irritating i know, but quite simple to fill out. You are entitled to cash rather than another ticket (which you might not use).

I got an email saying my train was cancelled (tomorrow evening) so I got a refund and had to buy a new one on a different, much more expensive route. Just having to suck it up.

Have to travel by train today too, it’s actually fine on the trains. What’s annoying is the ‘we’re sorry for the disruption’ notices. In my world if you say sorry for something you don’t do it again, and again, and again, and again!!
