I stopped my car in an area I didn't realise it was a private car park

So I was taking my mum to drop some letters off at a company and she would be 2 mins. Next to the company is a daycare and in between both is a massive car park. I presumed the car park was for the daycare and the company my mum was dropping the letters to.
I parked up in a space just outside the nursery and the car was facing forward. About 1 minute later, a a minibus for the nursery drives forward and stops in front of my car very close and a man gets out, which I found quite intimidating. He then walks to the daycare window and a woman comes out and they chat. She then shouts over if I'm okay and I say "sorry I didn't realise this was not for that company too and I'll move now" and I went to find another car park after the man got back in his minibus and drove off.

But I don't understand why the man had to drive and stop right Infront of my car and why he couldn't just walk up and tell me that it was a.private car park for the daycare? There were no signs about about the parking. I found it all rather intimidating.

Didn't he just stop there as he knew he would be 2 seconds giving someone a message?

Bigchezemakeme · 26/07/2022 23:55

You found a man getting out of his bus where he was meant to intimidating?

ladydimitrescu · 27/07/2022 00:12

He did absolutely nothing wrong- how was him getting out his vehicle where he was meant to be able to park, intimidating??

If you didn't know that you shouldn't be parking there, why did you apologise when she asked if you were okay?

If you thought you were fine, then the response would be. "Yes, fine, just waiting for someone".

He wouldnt have known you werent there as a parent of a child at the nursery, he isnt going to start quizzing everyone who parks there

Hawkins001 · 27/07/2022 00:37

Sounds like his business was with the daycare, centre and not who was parked, it seemed the lady noticed you as an after thought.

Freddiefox · 27/07/2022 00:41

up and tell me that it was a.private car park for the daycare?

you already found him intimidating by just getting out the van so coming up
to you would been worse
