LibrariesGiveUsPower · 26/07/2022 22:46

Yeah!

AnyFucker · 26/07/2022 22:46

Brilliant. Put the men to shame, they do.

UrsulaPandress · 26/07/2022 22:46

Bloody fabulous.

Bettyboo8 · 26/07/2022 22:46

They are women not girls but yes it's brilliant.

Pantsomime · 26/07/2022 22:47

Just love how accurate and fast their passing is and they attacked right to the end, 4 wasn’t enough they kept going- go on girls!!!

InChocolateWeTrust · 26/07/2022 22:48

I just said to my (all male) family, the women have got fed up of waiting for the men to bring football home and are going to sort it out themselves.

GyozaGuiting · 26/07/2022 22:49

Absolutely gripping game, I found it more entertaining than the men. More passion, they were gritty, and they attacked, a lot. The men’s game has become too clinical and defensive. A joy to watch and what role models they are.

Except they call themselves girls

Bonjovispjs · 26/07/2022 22:50

It was brilliant, can't wait for Sunday😀

Penguintears · 26/07/2022 22:50

I agree. So much better to watch than the men's game which is poisoned by egos. The women actually play as a team and they never give up on a ball.

Bettyboo8 · 26/07/2022 22:51

Do they? OK fair enough.
Wish they wouldn't.

sashagabadon · 26/07/2022 22:51

Sashagabadon you lucky lady!!

Yep! Going with sisters, neices and daughter. Tix were only £15!

InChocolateWeTrust · 26/07/2022 22:54

Wish they wouldn't.

Why? Is it somehow insulting to call someone a girl? I'd say to my husband "I'm going for a drink with the girls", in the same way he'd say he's going for one with the boys.... in both cases the friends in question are in their 30s. Isn't it just an informal & sort of affectionate way to refer to people?

Loved it. Hoping it's Germany in the final. C'mon!

jumpingjackonthelash · 26/07/2022 22:57

They were fabulous! Shaky in the first half but they picked it up …!!

KittyWindbag · 26/07/2022 22:59

Some of them might be girls? I don’t know much about them but some of the England mens team are literally still teenagers aren’t they?

I think with the term ‘girls’ it’s always fine if it’s the group themselves who are using it, not Bob Bobson in the office using it to talk down to the women he works with, type of thing.

girlfrien · 26/07/2022 22:59

Excellent.

UrsulaPandress · 26/07/2022 23:00

Sheesh. Let’s not fall out.

Bettyboo8 · 26/07/2022 23:02

If that's what they want! I just only say it when talking about children personally.
But yeh no falling out, they were amazing.

Greyskiesaregonnaclearup · 26/07/2022 23:04

I've loved watching this tournament (used to play for a National league women's team in the 00s and things have come on so much since then). Trying not to get too excited as the final will be incredibly tough, regardless of who we play. Same happened last year with the men and Italy.

If we win it...and that's a big if, what a wonderful thing that will be. Reading the comments by a lot of men on social media sports pages is depressing as usual though. Still a long way to go on that front.

UrsulaPandress · 26/07/2022 23:07

What are they saying?

catandcoffee · 26/07/2022 23:09

My other half loves watching them play. He says they are better than the men team,as they don't roll around pretending to be hurt for 5 minutes, they get up and continue to play great football. 😁

I’ve noticed a lot of men following it (fewer women, sadly).

Honestly I still think the standard is quite poor, which is reflected in the disparity between different teams (leading to a high incidence of one-sided high scoring games). That said, England being one of the few good teams does make it a fun watch!

I really hope more women and girls start getting consistently interested.
