Supermarket Delivery

I'm due a delivery this morning 7.00am - 8.00 am.

I have just had an email to say there is a problem with the payment, which is my fault.

But: I have just called them and the phone line doesn't open until 7.00am.

AIBU that if you ask a customer to contact you, you should be contactable? Or at least put in your email when you will be contactable.

It’s clearly a standard response someone has sent out to you, there probably isn’t one to say the phone lines open at 7. It’s not a big deal is it?

FitAt50 · 26/07/2022 06:32

Yes you are being unreasonable as you admit it's your fault.

So ring at 7am.

OK I have called.

I had to be put on hold while the very lovely call handler called the store as my delivery time is estimated to be 7.05.

I suppose it was lucky for me I hadn't booked a 6.00am slot.

Aprilx you do not need to quote the Original Post (OP) in full - unless otherwise indicated it is assumed that we are all responding to the OP.

I hope you got it sorted. This happened to me once... They sent me a text just after midnight (when they tried to take the payment) and of course I was asleep. It was for a Christmas order, and when the payment didn't go through and I didn't rectify it they just cancelled the order. The really annoying thing was that the money was there in the bank, but the bank thought it was iffy as it was a LOT more than usual so they refused it. Did I mention it was Christmas?

Who made you posting police? Maybe you wasted more space than I did.

MuddlerInLaw · 26/07/2022 09:05

Grin Don’t think there’s any shortage of space! It’s just a matter of what makes a thread more or less annoying attractive to read.

(I’ve been away for a few weeks and am thrilled to find the unspeakably dreadful nested quotes have now been collapsed into a discreet note.)

I worried about that happening when I made a large purchase on holiday recently, Delilah (tickets rather than food). Sure enough, my online payment was rejected. Phoned the bank in high dudgeon. They checked, denied all knowledge and swore by all that’s holy that they wouldn’t do anything so mean. It was all the vendor’s fault. Who let me make the exact same purchase the next day with no problem at all.

🤷🏼‍♀️
