Many of us really enjoyed this thread but still have more questions!

Just a reminder this is light-hearted and all about learning about other nationalities.

This is a question my DD wanted to ask:

In the US is it true teachers and even students get to eat snacks in class??

My son's elementary schools didn't allow snacks but my daughter's did. My grandchildren attend the same school district as my daughter but they don't have a snack time. I suppose it depends on the school.

Yes that’s 100% true. Obviously it varies by teacher and school but I’ve found a lot of them will (begrudgingly) allow snacks.

Depends on the teacher. Water bottles are definitely encouraged.

knitnerd90 · 26/07/2022 02:04

Not at all times. In elementary school there were designated snack times. They can have water at their desks always.

High school it's up to the teacher.

Certainly in high school teachers in morning classes often didn't mind if students munched something with no nuts or nut ingredients at their desks. I would imagine they felt sorry for students who might have left home without eating breakfast.

That makes sense as the start times are quite early from what I've learned on the other thread.
