I seem to remember she refused to go, but what were they thinking?
Did they hate her? Was it for revenge?

I don't care if the food was Michelin starred, it would have been horrible

I do not understand why anyone would think that either an enjoyable or a funny way to spend your free time.

There's this weird masochistic streak that runs just below the surface of humanity. This sort of thing brings it out into the open. People seem to love being humiliated, and pay for it.

I don’t like the ‘Karen’ reference but my friend went with her husband and kids and had a great time. She’d describe herself as a feminist so was a bit unsure but said it was actually very funny.

Not to mention 'A woman strutted past to the loos with the confidence of a supermodel, perhaps forgetting she was wearing one saying “dopey slag”.'

Just lowest-common denominator entertainment. The novelty will wear off and the Instagram sheep will move onto the next thing, or the restaurant will go too far and have to close after being sued.

These things have been going in america for years. No reason to think they’ll be closed soon. People love it. Personally I’d have to be in the right mood, if I was tired I’d be miserable but with friends I’d have a good laugh.

Just looks like fun to me.

Everyone has different tastes. A night at a 5* restaurant isn’t my ideal cup of tea.

I wouldn’t go there and wouldn’t like to be on the receiving end but the “fucking idiot” bit at the end would have made me laugh. Deadpan stuff like that I find funny, or the Gordon Ramsey style rants when they’re deserved. Gratuitous nastiness, not so much.

I can't see the appeal at all. Why would you pay to spend your entire evening being bullied and humiliated?

I understand the 'we all have different tastes' argument but the use of 'Karen' and 'slag' hit a sour note for me. Why are women fair game for this sort of thing?

Wait is that a real thing?! James May went to a restaurant in Italy (tv series) where they were deliberately rude ~ he thought it was just because they were Italian! Clearly this is a global trend
