To let mess/clutter affect my mood?

If my house is clean and everything is put away I'm in a good mood. When it's messy and there is clutter everywhere it makes me feel cluttered too. Does that make sense?

I have a 4 year old daughter. She keeps her bedroom absolutely spotless, makes her bed each day. The same cannot be said for the rest of the house, she leaves a trail of mess everywhere she goes, she will set up a game in the hallway and leave it there, I imagine because she doesn't want to mess her room up.

Im constantly finding everything taken out of its cupboards, bits of paper, sweet wrappers, dirty clothes. I clean up and within seconds it's messy again!! The worst is she will collect random objects from around the house and put them all into a bag or box 😭😂

Does anyone else let the state of the house affect their mood? I want to hear other peoples stories!

Yes and I wish it didn't! I can't relax when it's messy and chaotic. Now I have teens I have to let their rooms go to an extent though.

I wish mine didn't either! I can't get my head clear if it's messy. Luckily DH is the same, so we tag team. Cleaning down the house before going to bed knowing it'll make me have a good morning feels like a chore sometimes, but I'm so happy I do it.

Can't stand my BILs house with his partner, it's like a pit. I can't relax in there it's foul, my brain is screaming at me the entire time!! So so stressful. Like a breath of fresh air getting home 😂

I agree 100% you are not alone. Don't get me started on how the whole house must be clean and tidy if we're having people over! I take after my mum who is exactly the same. Currently have a 9 month old DS 😅 I can only imagine the mess that lies ahead of me! I am a touch OCD.

Completely the same, mess really gets me down! I’ve got a baby on the way and I am already telling people DO NOT buy things for her thank you! We have everything we need.

We have a tiny house and nowhere to house all the plastic crap we will inevitably be ‘gifted’ for her. Straight to the charity shop it shall go.
