So annoyed- New Look

I know it’s my own fault for not asking or checking the small print but I’m so annoyed and need a bit of a rant.

I had an event and bought some clothes in new look for it. I’m always awkwardly inbetween sizes so bought the 2 sizes I would usually go between- I tried them on instore and it was so busy and loud and I couldn’t decide which size actually fitted best. I tried them on properly at home and tried to return 2 things that didn’t fit me. They were in the sale but still expensive for me (£30 in total). I hadn’t realised that with new look, if you return a sale item you can’t get a refund and can only get a credit note. I know I know I should have checked and it’s my own fault and lots of places do this so I’m not blaming anyone, but I’m so annoyed at myself. It wasn’t mentioned at the till when I was buying a couple of different sizes of the same sale item that actually they’re not returnable and I genuinely didn’t know.

arghhh I just needed a rant. I know I’m being unreasonable but I’m so frustrated, I don’t even like most of the things in new look so really don’t want a credit note either.

Oh now annoying, I’d be gutted too. Can you buy an early Christmas gift or two with the credit note, just to try and offset another cost? They have cute homeware if you have any (pre/teen) kids to buy for, or something like slippers/ pjs for another age group…

I used to work at New Look actually - we always mentioned that sale items were only exchangeable for other items or on a gift card, because obviously you want to avoid the awkward confrontation of people coming back trying to get refunds. And whenever I buy sales items anywhere it’s always mentioned actually. If you were buying two of the same they definitely should have clicked on and mentioned it in my opinion. Clearly they weren’t paying attention.

I used to shop in NL alot. they are horrible about returns in there. I agree with PP they should have warned you at the till point. I had a similar issue once the store staff were not helpful but I emailed head office and got my money back, try tweeting them OP or you can find their contact details online.
