as per my new username really - AIBU to think that if something goes missing while kids are in NRPs care its up to them to replace it, not the sodding RP who bought the damn thing less than a month before and is being asked yet again to replace something they had no role at all in losing?

I like your name! 🤣

The RP definitely shouldn’t be replacing items lost at NRP’s house.

However….depending on the age of the child, it might be the child rather than the NRAp’s responsibility. I would start telling child to take better care of their belongings. I would stop buying replacements and leave that to ZnRP or child’s pocket money (depending on age).

How old is the child and what's the item? Has it been lost because Ex is useless or the kid(s) not respecting their stuff? If it's not 100% necessary, can it wait to be replaced? But yup, it's annoying......but that's why you get all that huge amount of child support for isn't it, to buy everything.........Hmm

Tween child, pocket money comes from me only. She's v good at looking after things at school etc - I don't really think she should be penalised for the hassle of having to go between 2 houses. He has form - blamed her when she was 5 for not bringing her school shoes back.
