To get an 18 litre bin instead of a bigger one?

I've seen an 18litre bin online that I quite like for my small kitchen but just wondering if it's too small for one person?

we have just changed to much smaller bin, it just needs emptying more which is a good thing. Who needs 50 litres of stinking rubbish in their kitchen ! Also easier to buy smaller bin bags which actually fit , do it .

It depends how easy it is to empty it. And will it fit larger items easily enough?

We have a basic swing bin that's probably that size. No problems. Use proper liner though rather than for example carrier bags

Why not? Nothing worse than tripping over stuff in a small space. Ours is a small slimline. Only two of us and the cats. Emptied daily. Recycling gets taken out immediately (can’t stand seeing it on the counter top). Our bins are between gate and back door, so very easy.

Of course. Do what suits you. Now we recycle as much as possible not much even goes in the bin.

I bought a 12 litre bin for 3 of us. We recycle a lot (including food waste) so it’s fine. I hate large kitchen bins 🤢

Seems fine if you don't have far to go to empty it in your wheelie bin. I'd happily get rid of our kitchen bin as we can just open the kitchen door and the wheelie bin is right there. Apparently it's too cold to do that in winter aaccording to DP, so we have one of those monster bins taking up an entire cupboard. I always seem to drop the damn thing on my toes in my struggle to empty it. Small bins all the way!
