To love some TV Adverts such as the current Mr Kipling one!

I just love that Mr Kipling advert on ITV featuring a father and daughter... the daughter makes 2 mugs of what looks like lovely strong tea and leaves them beside 2 Mr Kipling cakes, she then sits down at the piano beside her father where they play an upbeat tune together while looking really smiley and happy... it just has such a feel good vibe to it!

My Dh thinks it's funny that I like certain adverts such as that old Christmas Guinness one, Christmas Kellogg's cornflakes one, the Christmas Coca Cola one and all the Lloyds Bank ones with black horses... the funny thing is I don't watch much on TV apart from the news and obviously the ads!

Are they any adverts that you particularly like?

Never seen it

Has it still got the bloke who does the voice over, he has a horrible deep phlegmy voice that makes me feel sick.

CadburyCrunchy · 24/07/2022 19:16

@bellac11 no, it's someone else!

The old Yellow Pages ones are lovely - look them up on YouTube. Nothing beats the Hovis one on Gold Hill though 😍

Kanaloa · 24/07/2022 20:52

I used to like the Mr Kipling advert with the stroppy teen daughter who refuses to go to a family party and her little brother goes round the party trying to get a bit of cake and when he finally gets one he wraps it up and brings it home for her! I don’t know why, it just always warmed my heart.

Also the one with a little girl who wants to buy her mum a bar of chocolate and can’t afford it/tries to pay in buttons and trinkets and the shop keeper gives her toy back as ‘change’ and lets her take the bar of chocolate. That one gets me all emotional.

I actually don’t watch much ‘proper’ telly at the moment, more likely streaming, so I don’t see many ads! Probably a good thing as I seem to be exactly the type of simple hearted type that falls for them 😂

dudsville · 24/07/2022 20:53

There was a twinnings advert years ago that I still think of. It had a woman going through many hurdles to get home, I don't remember it all but lastly she was in a little dingy rowing to shore... where she met herself and could breathe and be at peace. Probably had a cup of tea at that point, but it was the imagery of how far we might get away from ourselves, our base, and that wonderful feeling of connecting and things just being right that's just always stayed with me.

ShirleyJackson · 24/07/2022 20:55

I like the one for the mobile card reader where the customers go, ‘Oooooooooooooooo’.

I don’t know why, but it really makes me laugh Blush

CadburyCrunchy · 24/07/2022 20:47

Anyone else!

Yes, I like that one too!

And the one with the boy running along the beach to Tenpole Tudor's "Swords of a Thousand Men" (for a holiday company?)

And the one with Plastic Bertrand's "Ca plane pour moi" (cereals?)

I like the music!

WinterMusings · 24/07/2022 21:02

Yes! I love the flash adverts with the white dog.

I love the AA ad with the dog sitting in front of the fan pretending to be in a car.

I used to love the Maureen Lipman BT adverts & absolutely years ago there were some ads with animals that were great, I think they were British Gas.

I record most stuff so rarely see adverts now but I did see one I liked the other day, but can't, for the life of me, think what it was!! I'll come back if I remember!!

So many annoy the living shit out of me though!!

BronwenFrideswide · 24/07/2022 21:15

My favourite at the moment is the Lucozade advert with the man hula hooping, love him, the little dog in it and the backing music.

A weird one that I can't make head nor tail of is the Ribena one with cats that I think are saying "Mate", it's very strange.

An all time favourite was the 'Come Home to a Real Fire' one that featured a bulldog, cat and mouse in front of a real fire, they each came in individually and settled in front of the fire.

dropthevipers · 24/07/2022 21:35

A few for the teenagers here, shake and vac (bonkers) and secret lemonade drinker.

CousinKrispy · 24/07/2022 21:54

Oh I like the "Oooooooooooooo" one too😂

CadburyCrunchy · 24/07/2022 22:08

@WinterMusings yes I loved the Maureen Lipman BT adverts too! She lives in Muswell Hill in North London and she used to go to my friends hair salon often in the 2000's... she says she's a lovely lady and full of life and would have the whole salon in stitches with her stories and great sense of humour!

I genuinely, and with no irony at all, watch this polish amazon-type website ad every christmas. It’s just a lovely 2 minute film.

www.dailymail.co.uk/video/news/video-1370519/Christmas-advert-touching-s-shared-world.html

excuse the Daily Mail link, but the only other version i could see on youtube had a doctored ending to be unpleasant. This is the proper ad at least - i’ve just selflessly watched it through to make sure. And now i’m all snuffly. Probably hayfever.

CadburyCrunchy · 24/07/2022 22:58

@Equiphant aww that advert is so sweet, thanks for sharing!

I really like the Haribo police one. Makes me laugh!

No it's annoying as is the song they play! The other Mr Kipling one is awful too with the horrible rude stroppy sister. This one always comes up in worst adverts threads.

Jellykat · 28/07/2022 19:34

Best of all time though- 'for Mash get Smash' with the aliens Grin

The one that makes me laugh atm is the Pampers 'Poonami' ad.. the babys little face cracks me up!

MuddlerInLaw · 28/07/2022 19:44

I watch very little terrestrial TV, and almost no ITV except Love Island (for the first time, this year). I’ve come to realise I completely love the Just Eat adverts. They’re so … off balance and almost unfinished. I find myself thinking about the exchanges between the parrots, or turtles, or geckoes while I’m standing in the kitchen, or racing for a train, or trying to go to sleep. So they must be good.

It has to be said I really have no clue what function Just Eat performs. I probably have takeaways about twice a year, and never at home.

Weirdwonders · 28/07/2022 21:16

I love the Katy Perry Just Eat advert. I just do.

lollipoprainbow · 28/07/2022 21:34

@Weirdwonders me and my dd love this advert !

I’m sure you can work out what function just eat performs - I mean you obviously know it has to do with having takeaway food at your home so surely you could put those two things together?

Mothhunter · 29/07/2022 07:23

This is the greatest ad of all time.

DanielRicciardosSmile · 29/07/2022 07:26

The Aardman "Creature Comforts" ones? They were actually for the Electricity Board, but everyone remembers them as being for British Gas. Mandela Effect at work I guess!
