Tracing Agents

I was contacted by tracing agents about the estate of a distant cousin I didn't know existed.
I think it will be a "nice to have" sum rather than a significant amount, but I'm a bit curious.
Has anyone had experience of receiving money through agents like these?

I second the advice to watch Heir Hunters.
I don’t know what the agents who
have contacted you may have said but they will take quite hefty cut of the legacy as commission; you might feel able to claim yourself and save that.

thanks both - one of the agencies mentioned in the episode was the one that has contacted me, and the estate a similar size.
the agency were cautious about the fee % when I asked- but it looks as if they do their work to earn it.
Watching the program made me realise they might unearth lots more cousins, etc - I was only aware of 4, including me😊
