To think about calling maternity triage?

Hello,

I was really poorly yesterday I think it’s a virus I was having toilet troubles, being sick, getting a fever to the point I was hallucinating and getting shivers and just generally being weak and unwell and couldn’t eat anything and barely drunk really.

I’m 23 weeks pregnant and I could feel the baby move all day yesterday but nothing yet today which is a bit unusual but I know they don’t check until 24 weeks but I was wondering if my illness could put baby in distress and if I needed to call triage or something I’m not sure really.

I have had some toast and a cup of tea this morning so gonna have a shower because I am a gross sweaty mess but was wondering should I see how I get on and see if baby moves or call them?

I know I might be being a bit precious but I'm just a bit worried.

Thank you

Not being precious at all. If you're worried then 100% give them a call 🙂

Call them x

SamanthaVimes · 23/07/2022 09:33

Call them. The worst they can do is say no they won’t look at you but at least you’ll have done everything you can.
If they agree to see you at least you’ll get peace of mind from being checked out.
Hope everything is ok for you

heyitsthistle · 23/07/2022 09:34

Give them a call for sure. Hope you feel better and that your baby is just giving you a fright! x

nibblette · 23/07/2022 09:36

Definitely give them a call. Hope you're both ok. x

savemeagin · 23/07/2022 09:38

Call them. They'd rather you call than sit at home worrying. X

Doodledeedum · 23/07/2022 09:43

Call. They checked me at 23 weeks.

JMPB · 23/07/2022 09:47

Give them a call, even if they can’t see you they’ll be able to give you some advice x

Ontomatopea · 23/07/2022 09:52

They'd prefer you called and let them decide if it's necessary or not.

LoisPlane · 23/07/2022 09:53

Definitely call. I was seen by the Early Pregnancy Unit when I went in at 21 weeks.

They won't just send you away, there will be some branch there that will check you and baby at 23 weeks, whether maternity, EPU or gynae.

Thank you everyone, they've asked me to go up and get checked out I'm sure everything's fine but I'd rather get checked and it be okay then think it'll be fine leave it and it not be for whatever reason.
