lighthearted before I get a reprimand

Red Sovine. It has become apparent my DP of a long time really likes his music. Whilst sitting listening to music this eve he decided to play me one of his songs because "I'd love it."

We have very different overall tastes in music but can both be quite eclectic and open minded when it comes to music.

Readers, it was awful. I nodded along politely to the first song..... By song 5, for the first time ever, I had to leave the room. My ears were bleeding!

WIBU to block DP from YouTube music as a result? He wouldn't have a clue how to set up Spotify or anything so I think it could work!

I was intrigued as I have never heard of this singer so went on Utube. You lasted for 5 songs!???? You must be the definition of tolerant.😂

🤣 Did you get as far as "Teddy Bear?" or the follow up songs? Honestly, it's awful. He played TWO ALBUMS of this to a colleague on the way up North once apparently.... More man had to tell him to turn it off.

I don't mind country generally - but this is truly awful!! Over the years he's played me some rubbish across many genres but this really took the biscuit. I'm not sure what I expect though, this is a man that calls Led Zeppelin "a racket." Maybe I should just LTB 🤔

My DH has a highly questionable taste in music, things like Terry Jacks - Seasons in the Sun, Don Maclean - Vincent, Billy Ocean - Suddenly, Dean Friedman - Lucky Stars, bit cheesy. I hate a lot of his musical choices, but it’s not all bad.

@GretaVanFleet same with mine, many questionable choices. He's a reggae /country/ 60's lover hybrid. Mostly not my first choice but perfectly fine. Some things just take it too far though haha.

I like music on YouTube as sometimes it's the song with video with e.g. shows like supernatural, or various films, but I prefer a mix of songs, rather than specific bands.

My dh is into trance music, a fact he hid for years into our relationship. It’s just the same noise over and over until it ends. He has recently started trying to suggests ‘songs’ that he thinks I might like. The last one had lyrics that just went ‘from front to back’ over and over. I sat there the whole time wondering why someone was singing about best feminine hygiene etiquette 😳
