Big birthday ideas please!
DH 50th birthday later this year.
Any recommendations/ideas what to do? Looking for a experience/s etc (not abroad and no big party/gatherings). Something different/memorable to daily life, ideally in east anglia.

Depends what he likes, is he sporty? Arty? Foodie? Have a look at red letter days for inspiration and build from there.

I was going to say not a balloon if it has to be on the day. The flights often get delayed.

I have also known someone who gave up on a hot air balloon ride as it got cancelled 5 times. So, I wouldn't choose that!
No idea if the following are available in East Angles, but something like a cookery course. spa day, zoo keeper experience, car/tank driving or llama walking. Would personally choose a weekend away at a nicer than usual hotel.

Have lunch at the Wentworth Hotel Aldeburgh.

I paid for my father to have a Spitfire flight for his recent “big birthday” if your DH is into that kind of thing. It was great fun!
