To have low grade anxiety about the world I've brought DS into?

Recent heatwave didn't bring on these thoughts, but has certainly reinforced them....

Have I doomed DS to a near future where climate disasters are happening every other week, cities are slowly flooding, food is scarce, forests burn, species die, costs and inflation keep rising and rising and rising as companies bleed the world out for their shareholders???

Furious with my 73 year old dad who said DS' generation will 'figure it out' as if their generation aren't the reason we're bloody here in the first place!!!

DH brushes me off as alarmist but this really seems like the way things are headed.

Anyone else have these intrusive thoughts? Advice on how to stop? Worried I've doomed DS to some apocalyptic hellscape Shock

Masks on our faces
Bad news on the radio
Guns in the classroom
Lessons in doom
Flames in the forests
Poisoning the air we breathe
Memories of roses
Too burnt to bloom

I’ll just keep on thinkin'
This whole world is beautiful
How can it not be, when you are here?
I’ll go on believing
People can be wonderful
Each time you’re close to me, it’s clear
It’s a beautiful world now you are here

And if I appear delusional
My optimism doesn’t mean
I’m not aware
Or I don’t care

But I’ll just keep on thinkin'
This whole world is beautiful
How can it not be, when you are here?

I’ll go on believin'
People can be wonderful
Each time you’re close to me, it’s clear
A whisper of hope to calm my fear
It’s a beautiful world now you are here

I think parents have felt like this since humans first existed. Now it's climate change, back in the past it was famine, disease, war.

There's nothing you can do about any of it except your small part of trying to be as green as you can.

I don't have tips but I feel exactly the same. I will follow this thread for advice! Thanks for asking the question.
