As stated, this is a bill that is not likely to become law (but really, who the fuck knows these days?), but a bill was filed by Rep. Larry Pittman in February 2021 to make abortion punishable with death.
Pro-life as fuck, obv.
Not only that, but: "Any person has the right to defend his or her own life or the life of another person, even by the use of deadly force if necessary, from wilful destruction by another person."
Last year, Pittman said: "A lot of my bills have not even been given a hearing since I've been here. This may not happen while I'm still here. We may not get it done this year. We may not get it done next year. But all I know is the Lord says do it and so we're giving it our best try."
I know it's not law. I know that Roe -v- Wade has a lot of light shining on it right now, but reading this made me feel genuinely sick. RvW is stirring up the bloodlust and hatred of women in Republican men and giving them legitimacy.
There are Republicans out there who want it to be legal to murder women and girls for making decisions about their own bodies. And there are people that vote for them.
