I work full time, Monday - Friday in an office environment.
I am also trained in various beauty treatments (nails, lashes, brows) for some extra income around my working hours. I am mobile, have a car and travel to clients houses. I do not advertise this, as I only offer for close friends, family, colleagues and any mutual friends.
A good friend “Anna” is a regular client of mine. She mentioned one of her friends “Jayne” (who I have never met) is interested in booking a treatment with me for Thursday.
I text Anna saying “You can give Jayne my number and then she can contact me to arrange an appointment.. etc.”.
Anna then sent me Jayne’s number. I assumed this was so I could save it down.
A few days go by. No contact from Jayne.
Anna messaged me today saying “Did you speak to Jayne?” I replied “No I haven’t. I thought you were going to give Jayne my number to contact me?”
Anyway, we both realised it was crossed-wires, But Anna is still thinking I will be able to travel to Jaynes tonight. I was slightly annoyed as why should I go out of my way to message a potential client? To me, it feels pushy. If they are interested in one of my treatments, they should contact me. I am absolutely shattered from working full time and feel really awkward contacting this lady I have never met before to arrange an appointment for tonight.
Sorry I never intended for this to be so long … but am I being unreasonable here?
