Over a week ago i got a asda shop that was cancelled by the driver. The store fitted us in at the end of the day so all good? No the order stayed cancelled with funds ( 150) being refunded. So i have shopping i haven't paid for.
Spoken to asda every day since and the response has varied between Thats just not possible to you will get a refund?!

Obviously the money will stay unspend but aibu to give up calling begging them to take money ?

I would stop, you've tried to pay them and it's not your fault they won't let you.

I had something similar - a driver didn’t ring the bell and we didn’t hear him. He makrked us down as undelivered., only he tried again an hour later. I got my refund and was unable to make customer services understand what had happened. I never paid - it’s been 6 months. I have kept the emails as evidence of my attempts to rectify the issue.

Asda? you would think it would be more urgent to them

I had a similar situation only they delivered it as normal but the driver accidentally marked it as undelivered so I was refunded. I called and emailed for a paper trail proof that I'd tried to pay and they didn't care/didn't have a procedure for that sort of thing. Nearly £300 free shopping!

You've tried, I'd stop chasing them now

UrsulaPandress · 21/07/2022 15:06

Ever seen the episode of Frasier where Martin tried to take an over payment back to the bank?

SpiderVersed · 21/07/2022 15:08

It's an idiocy tax. You tried to pay them, they aren't having it, so that's on them.

If you feel uncomfortable about it, I'm sure your local food bank would appreciate a donation.

teenagetantrums · 21/07/2022 15:09

I used to work for Asda. I wouldn't bother to keep trying. Honestly it's more hassle for them to take the money and allocate it to shopping which they will already of written off as waste.

Georgeskitchen · 21/07/2022 15:15

No. Just enjoy a week's free shopping!!

Trainfromredhill · 21/07/2022 15:20

Stop chasing them.
I was overpaid for a series of NHS shifts. I spent hours trying to pay it back. Gave up. It was years ago now.

OldTinHat · 21/07/2022 15:27

Other way round here. Ordered £50 worth of shopping. Paid for it. Never arrived. I still haven't had a refund a week later...

AnotherMrsAverage · 21/07/2022 15:27

This happened to me during lockdown. £150 worth! I have a contact at the local hospital so spent the money on chocolates for the team. My contact was thrilled (as were her team).
