I feel so poorly, dripping in sweat, throat hurts so much, the worst head ache and feel really dizzy. I can’t believe how bad it is!

Yes. And was third trimester pregnant at the time too. Had to get signed off work for the first time ever. 2 solid weeks in bed.

Hope you feel better soon

HorribleHerstory · 21/07/2022 14:22

I’m sorry you aren’t well OP and I hope you get better soon, but that’s a pretty insensitive title considering how many people clearly died and are dying from covid.

restedbutexhausted · 21/07/2022 14:23

Is it still warm where you are/is your home quite warm still? Maybe that's exacerbating your symptoms?

I was fortunate when I got covid (both times) and had hardly any symptoms. But i've heard it's quite bad recently. All I can suggest is lots of rest and hydration, which you're probably already doing. Electrolyte drinks may help too.

@HorribleHerstory I don’t think it is insensitive? I feel awful for the people that have died from this.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 21/07/2022 14:27

It was awful, I would have been delighted if those had been my only symptoms (not helpful and very 'four Yorkshiremen' I know, but it's true). Sympathies, it's awful. Flowers

Rummikub · 21/07/2022 14:32

It is awful! I don’t feel like I’ll ever be well again.

123ROLO · 21/07/2022 14:33

Yes was the most Ill I've ever been in my adult life. I'm two weeks in mostly better now but still easily exhausted and have a tight chest.

Me and my friends caught it on holiday together and have all been equally as bad and can't believe how poorly we've been. Definitely not "just a cold".

NightmareSlashDelightful · 21/07/2022 14:40

It has been like a cold for me, personally, but a really bad one. I've had it twice now, perhaps three times (possible first time was early days and pre testing).

Obviously you need to check against what medications you can take but cocodamol has really helped me, as has drinking loads and loads of water.

ifonly4 · 21/07/2022 14:40

Hope you feel better soon, OP. Try and keep drinking and eating to keep your strength up to fight it.

We both felt awful and ended up feeling like zombies. I couldn't even focus on reading a post on MN. Luckily I'd gone out and got easy food just to heat through when DH tested positive, as I followed on soon afterwards and it took all out energy to move for a drink or food.

I'm on day 8 today , it's my first time having covid so I have nothing to compare it too .. but I do know it's has totally knocked the shit out of me , my husband and my children... my throat was so sore I could barely swallow a cold drink , sweating galore just running off me , my head was awful, I ached, my teeth hurt , I had random stabbing pains .. my nose streamed... yesterday was the first day I actually felt a bit human again ... but only a bit .. it's a bastard , wishing you better

Sheepdog20 · 21/07/2022 14:43

I have just took some Cocodamol and it has really helped

Apart from a mega sore head I was OK for the first 3 days and then it hit me, sweats, lethargic, nauseous, breathlessness . I slept for the next 7 days and then had to have a further week off work as was so breathless.

Plenty fluids and sleep should hopefully help.

There's always one, behave.

JazzyBBG · 21/07/2022 14:47

It is much worse that I imagined. Day 7 here. Every day a new symptom. Today it's the shits. Lucky me.

It's not insensitive!!

The OP is saying she can't believe how rough she feels, just like most people I know who have had it recently and are surprised given the ' it's only like a heavy cold ' nonsense that's trotted out.

Sheepdog20 · 21/07/2022 14:48

I have a 5 and 2 year old and I couldn’t take her to school this morning, had to ask DH to stay home, was wondering if I was being a wuss, wish I never posted now though!

Hope that you feel better soon. My sister currently has covid and is really poorly. It is the first time that she had had to take time off work for an illness in over twenty years.

Take care of yourself, I hope that it passes soon. Flowers

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 21/07/2022 15:10

Sorry, I hope my post didn't come across as blunt! I can confirm that you definitely are NOT being a wuss.

FAQs · 21/07/2022 15:13

I’m on day 13 and still feel rough, lost 9lb in weight through lost appetite and really tight chest, your title is fine!

Jules912 · 21/07/2022 15:21

I was completely floored by it in March and still not completely better! Only other time I felt that ill in adult life was when I had flu and that only lasted a week or so. DH (who never gets ill) wasn't as bad a me but needed a few days in bed.
