The situation was that my wife's work were taking a significantly long time to order and supply work uniform, and so she had to purchase her own clothing supplies.
We did that, and her line manager has gotten frustrated that several other colleagues have not received any uniform so they chased it up: turns out there is only 1 person in charge of ordering uniform and they never made the initial order as "they forgot to do so". They write down the orders on a scrap piece of paper, very disorganised but can't be fired as it is near enough impossible to get fired within the public sector.
Her work have now said that there is a backlog of uniform orders and it will now take a considerable amount of time to order uniform, she has already been waiting 5 months due to no fault of her own and now has to wait another few months. If it was ordered initially, and my wife chased it up several times and they lied saying it is on its way, then the uniform would have been here by now.
