AIBU to holiday without DP?

I don't think he'll think it's fair.

I have more annual leave than he does, and we both end up with about the same disposable income. He spends his, I don't spend much of mine so it's built up.

I've never been able to afford many holidays, but in the past with his ex they used to go on lots of expensive holidays. Not really relevant, but I feel he's had a lot of experiences I always wanted but missed out on, and now I can afford it, I would like to go myself. We can't afford to both do them (unless he saved all his money too, which he wouldn't want to do as he really enjoys what he does with it) we do go on one holiday a year together.

AIBU to book myself a dream trip? Would you feel resentful if you were him?

Go for it ! I would !

Absolutely
Your DP spends his money on hobbies or whatever and you have no part in that
You get to book yourself an adventure on your own, DP has no part in that and you have extra AL anyway so need to do something with it

It's always good to be your own person doing something you find fun for a bit of the time, you don't always need to do everything together

Absolutely yanbu I meant!

Go with a friend and say it was them inviting you

Schooldil3ma · 21/07/2022 09:36

Absolutely go. Unless there's a massive drip feed about having a dozen children together, one of whom is EBF or some such. Why wouldn't you go? Why wouldn't he be happy for you?

Hollyhocksarenotmessy · 21/07/2022 09:59

No drip feed.

I don't know why I feel guilty about it. He doesn't do anything extravagant with his money, everyday stuff, maybe that's why.

Go for it.

I used to love it when my wife had the occasional week away.
