Getting broody but swore we wouldn’t have a third after having two awful previous labours. First was traumatic emcs, second was a long vbac that lead to a painful prolapse.

My 3rd birth was wonderful
Planned c section after ECS then VBAC that went horribly wrong
I waddle-skipped down to the theatre "going to have a baby in 20 mins ..." Grin

All went so well, so much better than first two births

Also they tidied up my messy scar from first ECS . It's very neat now.

I had a much better experience all around and could plan for cover for my DCs for birth. Stayed in 2 days whereas both first two births I stayed in 4-5 days as became so ill during labour . Also managed far better at home and recovered quicker

Less than 3 hours!!.
No stitches and actually collected dc1 and 2 from school 6 hours later!

My third was my hardest labour.. you simply can't know.

A dream, especially after my second which was on the tricky side. If you've got any worries why not ask for a section this time?

BrieAndChilli · 21/07/2022 10:36

my 3rd was my 'worst' because it was much longer (18 hours as opposed to 7ish for the other 2) but none of my labours were too bad.

OP you had a VBAC on second baby that went into a prolapse

Clearly a VBAC means you had a C section first time

You can ask for a planned c section for third baby - given how badly the last VBAC went I imagine this would be your best option or you could do permanent damage to your bowels and pelvic floor.

People will give you their wide range of experiences but unless the had a c section followed by a bad vbac it is inapplicable to you.
