To think canned/jarred foods may spoil

After the heatwave I'm worried that tinned and jarred foods that we have would have spoiled.
Our kitchen was SO hot with the sun beating through the window from early afternoon

DH says will be fine but I'm not convinced

They will be fine

Fatballs · 20/07/2022 16:40

Unless air has got in some way they will be fine. They last decades without going off.

Davros · 20/07/2022 16:41

They'll be fine

I'd have thought if it was a problem, they'd have maximum temperature listed on the outside - for example some of my medicine says "store in temperatures under 26 degrees".

Your username says a lot, the food will be fine.

They’ve opened up tinned food that was canned decades ago and it’s been fine through all kinds of temperature changes. A couple of warm days in your kitchen will be fine. It’s sealed, bacteria can’t grow in tins unless they are damaged.

They got an extra cooking, even better🤣

But no, Google how canning etc works and you’ll understand why it’s fine.

Thanks everyone 😁
