To think social plans are over rated

I've had 5 different sets of social plans cancelled recently

Is anyone else feeling like post pandemic this is happening more? We don't have a huge social circle now we have 2 small dc but I try to stick to plans so they can enjoy some 'normal' socialising experiences post pandemic but 80-90% of the time the plans fall through.

Only really rely on family get togethers now. Do you think this will be enough until kids start making own friends at school? We go to playgroups but that's not really being with friends. Anyone else feel the same?

I definitely feel that people care less about each other. Everyone seems hurt and as if the effort isn't worth it. I notice this from road rage down to get-togethers with friends, from first lockdown onwards.

We used a (free 15hrs a week) childminder to help our small DC socialise with others, as she didn't go to nursery. No problems with making friends at school, subsequently.
