To be so bored of this weather?

I've got a couple of days off work this week and I'm so incredibly bored of this weather. It's too hot to do anything or go anywhere. I like sunny weather but not when it's this hot. AIBU or is anyone else finding it boring?

Yes, it is too hot to really enjoy anything. You just end up sitting very still, sweating.

WanderingFruitWonderer · 24/07/2022 12:47

It's cooled down a bit now thankfully. But, to be honest I'm getting a bit bored of the wall-to-wall sunshine we've had for weeks! I want rain! I'm longing for thunderstorms and torrential rain. But then I'm more of an autumn person than a summer person. I enjoy the sunny weather for a little while, but it's been relentless for weeks where I am now, and it's time for a change!

NellesVilla · 24/07/2022 12:49

Yup. I loathe it.

ilovesooty · 24/07/2022 12:51

Not me. We get little enough hot weather here and it doesn't last long - it's very much cooler now where I am.

SpringRainbow · 24/07/2022 12:55

I’m kind of miffed the thunderstorms we were promised never materialised.

However, I am so glad it has cooled down. Yes, it’s still warm but I can cope with this temperature.

I wouldn’t want it as hot as it was before.

The weather here has been grey for what seems like ages. We've had rain over the last couple of days and the forecast looks miserable. Hasn't really been a summer. Had the odd nice spells during the day but this time last year DD and I were having a lovely few days at the beach. It's not cold just a bit miserable.

WanderingFruitWonderer · 24/07/2022 12:58

I think people don't understand those of us who aren't into sunny weather in a big way. Summer is my least favourite season! When everyone else is grumbling in winter, I'm really happy!

Really? Whereabouts are you? I'm on the Sussex coast, and it's been non-stop sunshine for literally weeks. Everything is looking parched. It is much more bearable now though than it was a few days ago. I always feel I should be living in Scotland instead!

@WanderingFruitWonderer I don't know where the other poster is but I'm in the northwest of England, it's raining now and has done for most of the day, it's been raining on and off and overcast for a few days now.

I'm in West Yorkshire. Same here. It's grey now and it's raining.

Ah, OK, that's interesting. Sounds like the northwest and the southeast are delivering very different weather conditions? I assumed everywhere was sunny...

SorrelForbes · 24/07/2022 13:07

I'm in Hampshire, on the coast, and it's pleasant but not hot! TBH, due to work, I've only managed to get out in the garden once over the last few weeks. I'd love some more hot weather.

Smileyoriley · 24/07/2022 13:08

I hate it too. Summer is my least favourite season anyway and this one is turning out worse than usual- too hot to walk my dogs, ride my bike and the garden is a scorched desert

Sexnotgender · 24/07/2022 13:13

YABU. It’s so lovely to have some decent weather for a change. It’ll be back to being shit and cold soon enough.

Iwannerbeyourslave · 24/07/2022 13:15

It's good training for the menopause...unless you are lucky, you'll spend your entire day sweating 😀

Oh dear! As someone who doesn't like feeling hot, I'm dreading the menopause! A few years to go yet hopefully...

JingsMahBucket · 24/07/2022 13:22

Dear god, British really will fucking complain and moan about any and everything including good weather.

mum2jakie · 24/07/2022 13:23

It's chucking down here in the Midlands and has rained every day since the kids school holidays started on Wednesday!

ChilliPB · 24/07/2022 13:27

It’s around 20 degrees where I am (in Scotland) so it’s not too bad at all. It’s too muggy though!

ClaudineClare · 24/07/2022 13:32

It's 22 damp and muggy here. How can you be bored of sunshine?!

ClocksGoingBackwards · 24/07/2022 13:35

Not at all, but I know how you feel. I feel the same about the cold after months and months of it every bloody year.

MammaWeasel · 24/07/2022 13:40

Miserable in the midlands

CombatBarbie · 24/07/2022 13:44

Well it's literally not stopped raining since spring in SW Scotland.... Get the odd nice afternoon.... Worst summer on record!

Wheretheskyisblue · 24/07/2022 13:45

It is my perfect weather here at the moment. Mid 20s, slight breeze, just a couple of hazy clouds. Would like a bit of rain over night for the garden though.

Yeah here in the north we get the odd nice day but it's typically grey and miserable. We had that heatwave Monday and Tuesday but it was horrible in the high 30s.

It's a cloudy day today and I went for a walk but it was humid and sticky.

It's either humid or windy/rainy. I like weather in the 20s with blue skies and a gentle breeze. We've rarely had any days like that at all this summer.
