If it's been frozen? It's a sainsburys chargrilled veg and olive one and it was frozen on the day I got it. The instructions say to eat within a month of freezing.

I never stick to that!

Thatswhyimacat · 18/07/2022 18:15

I've never paid attention to any dates related to frozen food!

Bubblebubblebah · 18/07/2022 18:15

I eould. The month is for quality rather than safety

Feedmeplease · 18/07/2022 18:16

If its frozen then I would.

50mg · 18/07/2022 18:16

Frozen food will be fine for years. It might be a bit shrivelled up but it won't hurt you.

FitBeforeFifty · 18/07/2022 18:17

I would.

PurpleDaisies · 18/07/2022 18:17

I’ve never checked a date on something from the freezer. Go for it.

SparklingPeach · 18/07/2022 18:18

I would.

LoudingVoice · 18/07/2022 18:19

I’ve never checked the date of anything in the freezer, I’d definitely just eat it.

AlternativelyWired · 18/07/2022 18:19

It says to defrost before cooking. Ffs.

OP posts:
BitOutOfPractice · 18/07/2022 18:21

I wouldn’t have been looked at the date, never kind worried about it.

Doingmybest12 · 18/07/2022 18:23

I just bung it in frozen and make sure it it hot before eating

42isthemeaning · 18/07/2022 18:25

It'll be okay, but may not be as nice quality as it would've been. Don't defrost it just stick it in the oven until it's thoroughly cooked. Pretty easy to tell with a pizza.

KarrotKake · 18/07/2022 18:33

It's not going to Take long to defrost today!
Yes, I'd eat it from the freezer, but not the fridge with a date like that.

PurpleDaisies · 18/07/2022 18:36

I’d just cook it for a couple of minutes longer.

Jules912 · 18/07/2022 18:39

I once ate one a year out of date ( didn't check the date) from the freezer so sure it'll be fine! I wouldn't recommend that old though as it was a bit dry.

DramaAlpaca · 18/07/2022 18:39

Of course I'd eat it!

Furrydogmum · 18/07/2022 18:41

It'll be fine, on Sat I defrosted and cooked some creamy tikka sauce I made and froze last August - we're still OK..

EnjoythemoneyJane · 18/07/2022 18:57

It’s fine! You don’t need to defrost it, just stick it in the oven for a couple more minutes. There are a few things that might give me pause when they’re over their date, but not vegetables on bread!

cottagegardenflower · 18/07/2022 19:15

It will be fine. It's just the taste may deteriorate with long term freezings Quite safe though

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 18/07/2022 19:16

Of course.

shinynewapple22 · 18/07/2022 19:25

Oh yes if something fresh has been frozen I'll ear it up to a year afterwards

shinynewapple22 · 18/07/2022 19:26

I would also cook it from frozen

AlternativelyWired · 18/07/2022 21:33

I lived life on the edge and put some frozen grated mozzarella on it from January. No D&V so far 😁
