To think mobile air conditioner is confusing?

Bought an Arlec mobile con unit as it was in the sale and thought it’d be useful during the heatwave. Read instruction manual carefully. All seemed straightforward for home use - actually states it’s intended for domestic use.

Been running it off and on for a couple of days. All good.

DS1 has just noticed a sticker on said unit with very small writing which says the unit should be stored and used in a room with a floor space of at least 7m squared😳

There is NO mention of this in the safety instructions - in fact anywhere in the manual at all. In fact, I’d hazard the majority of domestic houses don’t have rooms that big.

Stuck on what to do now - does this mean it’s actually not safe to use in my flat? If so why on Earth isn’t this mentioned in the actual manual???

I think you need to redo your math. 7 square meters is a very small room.

HorribleHerstory · 17/07/2022 20:45

Square metres or metres squared?

QuestionableMouse · 17/07/2022 20:46

It'll be perfectly safe, just maybe not as efficient.

Wheretheskyisblue · 17/07/2022 20:47

2 x 2.5m or 6'7" x 8'2"

Fatballs · 17/07/2022 20:47

Seven square metres is roughly 7 feet by 10 feet. Some bathrooms are bigger than that.

Wheretheskyisblue · 17/07/2022 20:47

*3.5m or 11'6"

GCHeretic · 17/07/2022 20:48

No danger, but it presumably says 7sq mètres, which is a tiny room. 2.3m by 3m is 7 sq mètres.

7 square meters is cupboard sized

Augend23 · 17/07/2022 20:49

7m^2 would be a room 3.5m X 2m which is 11 ft by 6 ft which seems quite small. I doubt it's 7x7m .

SavoirFlair · 17/07/2022 20:49

I think you’re ok OP

TheIncredibleBookEatingManchot · 17/07/2022 20:50

My house is tiny and most of the rooms are 3x3 metres which is 9m squared isn't it? So surely most houses would have rooms bigger than 7m squared? Or is my maths completely wrong?

MarmiteCoriander · 17/07/2022 20:50

Surely its cubed?

ButterfliesAWOL · 17/07/2022 20:50

Ah! Thanks everyone, yes my maths is bad 🙈

I’d presumed it meant 7m by 7m.
