The government have chaired a second COBRA meeting in response to the heatwave that is expected on Monday and Tuesday of next week because there has been a red weather warning and threat to life.
Why oh why hasn’t there been any COBRA meeting to address the fact that people peoples energy bills are set to go up by 64% in October? Why isn’t it being looked into that Ofgem is repeatedly increasing the price cap. There is virtually no competition left in the energy market now.
Energy costs are rocketing and driving up inflation which will not fall until this crisis is urgently addressed. With prices going up so steeply on an ongoing and sustained basis I am stunned that this has not been treated with the same urgency and vigour as COVID or a heatwave that is set to last all of 2 days next week.
If this continues then the majority of ordinary families in this country stand to lose everything and/ be saddled with thousands of pounds worth of debt. Wealth is being siphoned upwards and only the very rich stand to benefit from this.
Im not normally one for conspiracy theories but I’m starting to think there is more to this than meets the eye…
