To think wtf

So call me grabby, I don't care. DH's dad told him he was going to inherit 100% of everything. He died a few years ago and turns out his wife's daughter (so DH's stepsister - although we don't really know her like that, it's a lot more distant) has had it all. Feels like a slap in the face. She only met him a couple of times and is now living a life of Riley. My poor DH is so winded by the whole thing. Yes, we're jealous. Bit also shocked. It's oh so strange given he said on his deathbed DH would be "looked after". Sorry for rambling. We're not grabby. Just confused

YANBU to 'think wtf' but I do think YABU to be ranting about it a few years after the event. Was nothing done about it at the time?

Did he leave it to his wife, who's now died and left it to her daughter? That sort of thing can happen I suppose.

RiderOfTheBlue · 16/07/2022 23:24

I'm guessing that when he dies his wife inherited everything, now she's died and her daughter has inherited it?

Why if all this happened a few years ago, is your husband winded now? Did he not realise before now that he's not got anything?
