Should I go to this birthday party (heatwave)

DD has been invited to a little kid's birthday party, tomorrow at 2:30pm in the middle of a field. There is a forecast for extreme heat where we live and I am worried it might be uncomfortably hot. There are some trees and tiny shaded areas but kids just like running around don't they. A bit torn as I am quite close to this kid's mum....

Yeah don’t do that to the child just take appropriate precautions

I'm in a place hotter today than its predicted in UK tomorrow... we've been out on the beach.

Go, take PLENTY of water - be that parent who makes their kid drink loads - as well as doing so yourself. Lather the kid in suncream and a good hat. The go for it. They'll soon seek shelter, quieter games if they get too hot.

Talk to your friend about shelter "do you want me to bring our garden umbrella/gazebo tomorrow?" Etc and hope that as a parent too this party will reflect the weather...

Oh and hit the bug spray... the mozzis are out in earnest here... I can't imagine a field is going to be insect free in this heat!

Yes you should still go, honestly this is a bit crazy to think of not going because of the heat...take water, suncream and sun hats, it'll be fine
