NC with Brother

I went NC with my brother when my mother died seven years ago. He has always been aggressive, intrusive and entitled. He has abused drugs since he was very young (enabled by my mum for whine he was the golden child who could do no wrong) and has at times been very violent. In short, he frightens me and I don’t like or trust him. I have three kids of my own to keep safe. I blocked him from contacting me and changed numbers. I just received a belated happy birthday text from an unknown number and it turned out to be him. I have my suspicions about who gave him my number. They have continually minimized how much I am affected by him and previously told him where I live. I feel so violated and I can’t understand why this person keeps doing this.

Then you go NC with the vermin who gave him your number. You've proven you've got the strength to do it before.

Then stop speaking to the person? I’m NC with my sister and my dad doesn’t respect it and often tells her information about me etc I’ve now cut down on contact with him

You need to go NC with that person as well. If they can't respect you and your feelings they have no place in your life.

Sorry you are going through this. People can be extraordinarily naive about family relationships, believing that you just need to talk and it will come out alright. Sometimes you have to be a lot more uncompromising than you’d ideally be to stay safe.

I'm NC to with my brother. He's a narc who scammed my parents out of 13 grand aswell. Not spoken to him since my dad's funeral 3 and a half years ago. Not good for my poor mum but my psychological state of mind has improved so much since.

Sorry - I really didn’t mean to drop-feed. I forgot to say that I’ve been NC with that person for about 2 years (other reasons).
@LetsGoCrazyPurpleBanana (Prince fan? 💪) My DB scammed my DP’s out of 45k and they paid his rent and bills and bought him a new car every two years. He was 44 when they died and he’d never worked in his life. (Unless you count his illegal sales record…)
